Rotating Bridge

This bridge was built in 1923, connecting the Amanohashidate land bridge and the Monju area, and has been rotating and making way for passing ships ever since, as mentioned in one of Yosano Akiko's poems, "Dark clouds pass by over Amanohashidate as the rotating bridge makes way."

  Nariaiji Temple

  Located on a hill overlooking Amanohashidate is the Nariaiji Temple. It is visited by many pilgrims every day as it is the 28th Buddhist temple of the Saigoku Kannon Pilgrimage. The colored leaves in autumn make it especially beautiful.
